Dans la lignée des origines du laboratoire LaPEC, deux publications viennent d’être acceptées dans des journaux de Physiologie de l’exercice.On parle ici d’entraînement intense sur plusieurs années mais également de réponses cardiovasculaires suite à quelques semaines d’entraînement à intensité modérée.

Le premier est un méta-analyse publiée dans Medecine Science in Sport and Exercise concernant les effets spécifiques de l’entraînement intense chez les athlètes sur la fonction de relaxation des artères. Une méta-analyse regroupe des études indépendantes qui ont le même sujet d’étude. Cette démarche statistique permet ainsi d’inclure dans l’analyse un plus grand nombre de patients et utile dans l’interprétation de résultats qui sont parfois contradictoires.

Le deuxième est publié dans American Journal of Physiology et s’intéresse à comprendre les mécanismes expliquant les augmentations du débit cardiaque (quantité de sang éjectée par le coeur par minute) lors d’un effort et donc de l’aptitude physique après un programme court d’entraînement sur vélo de quelques semaines chez des personnes jeunes et saines. Ce travail a été réalisé en collaboration avec le Pr. Carsten Lundby de l’université de Zurich.
